The Story Behind Silver Cross
140 years of experience
"There is no secret to making the world's finest prams - Just take 140 years of experience and add the finest materials; the rest is easy." - Silver Cross
The Silver Cross British heritage is not only very special, it’s also what makes them unique. The Silver Cross story starts in 1877 when founder, William Wilson, invented the world’s first baby carriage. William developed an innovative spring system - the now-famous bouncing Silver Cross suspension - and combined this with a reversible hood to create the first-ever modern pram.
Silver Cross products are now sold to more than 70 countries worldwide and Silver Cross has offices all over the world.
Today, Silver Cross HQ is still based in Yorkshire, England. They continue to strive to develop the best and most innovative prams and nursery products for parents. They are proud to say more than 10 million parents have chosen Silver Cross to help give their babies the best start in life.
